The end times can be quite a loaded topic and people respond to it in different ways. Some become fearful and anxious and simply try to avoid the topic. Others don’t give it much thought. However, some people acknowledge we are living in the last days and dive in deep to prepare. The main question we need to ask ourselves now is, “What should my response be to the end times?”
Matthew 28:18-20 says, “18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The are two critical things we should be doing in this final hour before the return of Jesus. Firstly, we must invest deeply in our relationship with God. Spending time with the Lord daily needs to be our highest priority so that we can build a rock-solid relationship with God. We will need to be strong in our relationship with God to navigate the time ahead. Secondly, we need to obey the command Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:18-20.
WE NEED TO REACH THE LOST
This verse clearly outlines our focus as Christians, especially now in this final hour. God is love and His heart is for the lost. As His children, we have the immense privilege of being part of taking the gospel to the lost. We have an opportunity to share with others the same love that God has so richly lavished on us. So, by the power of the Holy Spirit let’s continually look for opportunities to reach the lost with God’s love.
If we diligently keep our relationship with God strong and reach others with the gospel then we will finish strong the race God has marked out for us. We will sprint through the finish line having fulfilled the purposes God set for our lives.
I want to encourage each one of us to finish the race strong in this 11th hour before the return of Jesus!
